We are delighted to announce that the Fastgate at Europoort is now ready for accompanied traffic as from 1300hr today.
Driver's will now use the Fastgate to check in for a sailing as follows:
- The Fastgate will automatically retrieve your booking from the system using the vehicle registration or unit ID (If the system doesn't recognise the unit, the driver can enter the booking reference into the kiosk touchscreen). Please note: the vehicle will not be able to enter the port without a booking and bookings can't be made at the gate.
- The driver will scan their passport using the passport scanner in the kiosk- this is mandatory for UK border force.
- The kiosk will inform the driver where to park on the terminal.
- The kiosk will print 2 tickets:
- The boarding pass
- A destination card - the driver should place this in the cab window inside the vehicle - this informs the port staff whether the vehicle is travelling to Hull or Tilbury.
- The driver will scan the QR code on the boarding pass at the on-board kiosk in the ship's reception area to print out their cabin keycard*
*Please note some variations to the standard process for the first few weeks:
The system is being phased, in so initially the cabin keycard will be provided to the driver as follows:
- The driver must take their boarding pass to the reception desk on board ship - we kindly request that drivers go directly to the reception after boarding.
- The reception staff will write the cabin number and emergency assembly point onto the boarding pass and give the driver the corresponding cabin keycard.
We will update you again as the process changes.
