As one of the leading providers of freight ferry bookings, we recently visited Seatruck Ferries at Brocklebank Docks in Liverpool to take a closer look at one of their vessels and the fantastic team that operate them.
Seatruck Ferries are the only ferry company to operate a freight only ferry service to Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Seatruck Ferries are having an incredibly successful 2016. They continue to break all records and are now regularly carrying around 30,000 units across the Irish Sea every month.
One thing we noticed on our tour is that just because these ships are freight ships, this does not mean standards are low on-board. In fact, Seatruck Ferries has the youngest fleet servicing the Irish Sea!
After climbing the steps from the loading deck of the M.V. Seatruck Pace, we met Captain Alan Leech who took us on a tour of the various decks and the bridge. Considering the vessel in in her 8th year of service, the ship externally and internally is immaculate!
For a freight ferry operator, it’s an unexpected surprising to see that the Seatruck Pace provides all of the comforts you would probably only expect from a fully blown passenger ferry, just without the cinema and shop! The passenger cabins are impressive with a sea view and free Wi-Fi. The passenger lounge is equally comfortable, with Sky TV and a selection of meals cooked to order.
In fact the route network and on-board services offered by Seatruck Ferries has meant that the operator has carved a well-supported niche market in the car and motorhome market.
Passengers and Freight customers are treated to
