The new Bay Gateway M6 link road connecting Heysham Port directly to Junction 34 of the M6 will open on the 31st October 2016.

We recently reported on the HGV movement strategy consultation on the new link road. This has now been completed with the road development now in it's final stages.

The benefits provided by the new link road include

• Reduced travel time to and from the M6 to 10-15 minutes. Currently up to 1 hour!
• Improved access to Heysham Port
• Transformational changes including economic growth to Lancaster, Morecambe and the Heysham area
