The Irish Ferries ship MV Ulysses is currently out of action due to a technical problem. This is causing severe disruption to all sailings on the Irish Sea.
"Ulysses entered drydock in Belfast on 28th June owing to technical difficulties with its Starboard Controllable Pitch Propeller. The investigation and repairs to the vessel were expected to take no longer than 5 days however we have now been informed by service engineers that the issue is more serious than originally anticipated and they expect the vessel will be out of service for a further period of 1 to 2 weeks."
Latest Updates
As we are currently heading towards the busy holiday period when passenger numbers increase dramatically, availability across all ferry operators is being severely affected.
Unfortunately, the alternative operator Stena Line does not have the capacity to ship all freight and passenger vehicles from Holyhead to Dublin. On peak sailings, most bookings are on Standby / Waiting List.
Alternative routes such as Pembroke - Rosslare, Fishguard - Rosslare and Liverpool - Dublin are also seeing a huge increase in demand. Some space is available, but is limited.
Please plan your journey accordingly and be aware that your first choice of departure time may not be available.
Freightlink are working extremely hard to keep our customers updated. Where possible, we are securing additional space for existing and new bookings.
