The rules relating formalities from 1st January have been published by the French customs authorities.
In addition, the French Dept of Agriculture services (SIVEP) have just confirmed the rules applicable to animal and plant origin products entering France/EU from 1 January 2021 as follows:
From 1 January 2021, 00:00 CET, Sanitary and PhytoSanitary (SPS) products will be controlled at the Centre Douane SIVEP after crossing UK-France, and :
- for animal origin products, drivers must be able to show a sanitary certificate and a DSCE declaration must have been completed in TRACES NT by a represented customs agent (RDE)
- for all other SPS products, and during the first 2 days of January, the controls will be made on the basis of a CMR for goods started in 2020
